The SONY Playstation 3

For all the crazy fans of gaming and playstations, the lates SONY Playstation 3 is the ultimate experience in the world of gaming. The device itself is a smooth, matte and squared box with all games in high definition, easy to use interface and has high definition Blu-ray movies. What’s more amazing is that it has a 160GB hard drive, HDMI output with 1080p support and a free online gaming service. What else could one want for a gaming experience.

The set backs are very minor issues, that one can easily do without. It has just two USB ports, and no infrared port. You will have to get Bluetooth remotes, as the infrared ones will not work. The black finish does have a problem for causing the finger prints to show on the box. Despite all these minor setbacks, the PS3 is set to be a fantastic game console.

Since November 2009, Sony also introduced Netflix to the PlayStation 3 home console.

This means that Netflix subscribers can now have a free PS3 Netflix Blu-ray Disc online and can use it to stream a movie.

Sony later also faced a tough competition with the XBox 360 and it had to upgrade the product so that it could match with the stunning performances of the XBOX 360. From the initial 80GB hard drive to the current 160GB capacity, Sony has come a long way within a span of a year and a half. The problem though is that all these upgraded versions still don’t have Flash card readers which could be a negative point for flash based games/videos.The price of the PS3 was somewhere around $600 which gradually dropped down to $400. However, latest mega games such as the GRAND THEFT AUTO IV, ROCK BAND, CALL OF DUTY 4 & BIOSHOCK all are available to give users the best of gaming. Not only are these mega games available, but also exclusive dibs on METAL GEAR, UNCHARTERED, MLB08: THE SHOW and the much awaited RESISTANCE 2 and KILLZONE 2. Though other popular gaming stations are still around to challenge each other, PS3 could be said to be the only one that has Blu-ray Discs that is the standard format for playing high definition media. Also though it could not be as advanced as the XBOX 360, it still has a very strong and durable hardware that doesn’t shut out frequently as with the XBOX.

You can now get a PS3 160GB version for $500 with Ethernet and Wi-Fi networks. Older versions of 20, 60 and 80GB has been discontinued as the current 160GB seems to be the ruling device. At the end of the day, the Sony Playstation 3 is the best option for anyone who wants to get an introductory step in the world of gaming and high definition media.
