Motorola has finally launched the much anticipated Tablet of 2011. Motorola is known for the smart gadgets. Motorola cell phones have already gained the very attention of millions of consumers in US. The brand value of Motorola has increased in the recent years. For a couple of months, it was expected that Motorola would get involved in the tablet game—that wasn’t beyond the realms of possibility—and happily, Motorola has now launched the Xoom tablet officially.

The headline of Xoom Tablet is “It supports the Android 3.0 Honeycomb”. One finds the features spellbinding: 10 inch display with 16:10 aspect ratio (1280 x 800 pixels); Tegra 2 dual core CPU with 1 GHz processing; 1 GB RAM and 3G data modem, which can be upgraded up to 4G, given the availability of the chipsets. And, to everyone’s surprise, one will be able to upgrade their 3G Xoom from an authorized dealer in a matter of minutes and there’ll be no need of purchasing a new model—Motorola says so.

Now let’s have a look of the software side of the Xoom. It’s good to know that Motorola Xoom comes with Android 3.0 Honeycomb—specifically made for tablets. Though the UI presented at CES is rather newly developed until now, the model there could play Full HD videos with no difficulty. A few people had the opportunity to search thoroughly the home menu, however, being an emergent software there was nothing to be seen. Still, the software is worthy enough to be considered provided the release of the final build of Android 3.0 by Google. The process might take a few months.

A Tablet Never Before

Another feature worth mentioning is the battery life—you can play video for about 10 hours. Naturally, this will give you more time when you are doing your usual work and are away from the electric source. It may give you up to 15 hours. Incredible! Moreover, it offers 5-megapixel camera that would surely help you in video chatting, and video capturing of about 720p. The 32 GB built-in memory is sufficient enough to store your media files, but still, you have an option to purchase external cards (or SD cards). The lighter-than-iPad Motorola Xoom weighs only 720 grams.

Seemingly Low Cost

As yet, nothing can be said about the availability or the cost of it, but one thing for sure that subsidy will be given on Xoom at first on Verizon network. Hopefully, Motorola will soon make it available on other networks, so that it may be available outside US and others get a chance to use and enjoy it. Pitiful it’d be if it does not happen, keeping the hardware specs in mind that are available here.

Find the elegant style yourself and its add-ons, including a cordless keyboard, a docking stand and a foldaway case that can be doubled just like a stand with two folding options.
