Live Chat On This Blog is Available
With addition of the new widgets in sidebar, Live Chat is now available at all my blogs. When ever I am online, you can see my status right here on the blog. you can click one the white balloon on right to reach me when I am signed in to Google. While the bigger chat box below the ‘Recent Tabs’ will let you chat live with me on MSN. you don’t need to have Gtalk or MSN. the web versions are already loaded.
I’m not so sure. if Live Chat will actually will work on blogs like mine or not. I just thought it is a clever idea to include these widgets so people can contact me when I am online. It probably is a better mode of communication with my existing readers. On the flip side is that all chats are lost, once they are done. I can definitely save them on my IM (highly unlikely, I know). Now This is a a new problem: IM conversations generally have a poor signal-to-noise ratio, making it virtually impossible for subsequent readers to find the information they’re looking for. Oh, and don’t get me started on the spam problem. The other potential pitfalls are perm linking and search. The benefit of comments is that they can be perm inked - they become mini-blogs of their own The other advantage of a permanent record is that it turns up in search results - I often find the information I’m looking for in blog comments. If there is no perm link structure for live chat and the chats aren’t stored on the originating blog, all these advantages are lost.
I may be pushing live chat to its edge but I really want to know the people who visit my blogs. It is very personal and I have every right to engage people visiting my street in any manner I deem fit. period. lol
I think I will give it a shot for a week or two and see the results. Two things can happen, Either I will be over whelmed by the visitors constantly nudging me with PMs or People will just simple ignore these widgets and just pass by silently. I am betting on the second one, while Paul is standing next to me and he thinks I have made a mistake of my life.. let’s see whose prediction comes true.
I wanted to add a section on how to implement live chat on your blog but I think It would be more interesting if you ask me through chat to help you with that
I am waiting folks..
Have a nice day!
How to Optimize Your Internet Connection to Get 100 % Bandwidth
Most of Internet connections are working below capacity. A simple bandwidth test would reveal that your own Internet connection is working well below its capacity. some times below 60% of the bandwidth is utilized. Below are some of the tricks I have collected that may help you get most juice out of your internet connection.
Increase bandwidth by tweaking QoS in Windows XP Pro
The following tweak applies only to Windows XP Professional edition. The default system behavior is that all 100% bandwidth is available, however, if there is a running application that indicates to the OS it needs to send high priority/real time data, then as long as it has the socket open, Windows XP will restrict “best effort” traffic to 80% of the bandwidth so that high priority traffic can be accommodated. Basically, applications can make this request to the operating system for QoS support using the QoS application programming interfaces (APIs) in Windows and this only applies if a specific app is requesting QoS.
If you’d like to change how much bandwidth is reserved for QoS (the default is 20% of the total bandwidth), do the following:
-
Make sure you’re logged in as “Administrator” (not just any account with admin privileges).
-
Navigate to START>Run and type: gpedit.msc
-
Navigate to Local Computer Policy > Administrative Templates > Network > QOS Packet Scheduler
-
In the right window, double-click the limit reservable bandwidth setting
-
On the setting tab, check the enabled setting.
-
Where it says “Bandwidth limit %”, change it to read 0 (or whatever percentage you want to reserve for high priority QoS data)
-
Click OK, close gpedit.msc
-
Under START > My Computer > My Network Connections > View Network Connections, right-click on your connection and under Properties (where it lists your protocols), make sure QOS Packet Scheduler is enabled.

Strong Reasons Why you should not install SezWho Plugin
Bloggers struggling for traffic often opt for Entre Card and install the widget on side bar. Now SezWho and Entre Card have joined hands and launched a WordPress plugin that offer incentives for commenting on other people’s blogs.
The whole concept of Entre Card is so bizarre that it is being termed by Google and Alexa as spam. Alexa does not count Entre Card Droppers as visitors to your blog. There are also inside reports that Google is going to drop ranking of blogs using Entre Card for traffic. It has already stopped counting SezWho / Comment Luv links as valid back links for Google Page Rank. They are considering this Just fully so as companies basically thrive on blogger’s greed for traffic & popularity. They do bring traffic
and comments but if you think for a moment about quality of traffic it brings. you will right away stop using the both. Its just not worth it. Apparent benefits are so little to justify the hidden costs. In fact the whole idea is lame. Read the rest of this entry
