DynaTAC to iPhone: A History of Wireless Phones
If you have been around for a while, you are a witness to the fastest evolution of technology in history. Wireless Phones (also called mobile phones and cell phones) are no exception to this statement. Since 1983 ,they changing shape so fast that it is breathtaking to watch to advancements. If someone slept all the time from 1980’s to this day, It would be very difficult for him to recognize most of the stuff around him. He sure will be unable to tell the use of an iPhone. It is indeed very hard to find a similarity between a Motorola DynaTAC 8000X( from 1983) and Apple’s iPhone(2007).
Wireless technology behind the wireless phone also evolved from 1G to 3G over time. According to techbiz.blog.com

First generation of cellphones (1G) used analog signal transmission technique for communication between mobile and base stations. FDMA (Frequency Division Multiple Access) was the de facto protocol for distributing available frequency band among concurrent users. 1G cellphones were predated by mobile radio telephone technology (usually considered as 0G). Both 0G and 1G supported basic voice communication only.
2G introduced digital signal transmission technique along with TDMA (Time Division Multiple Access) and CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access) protocols. 2G needs much more careful consideration in order to understand the cellphone convergence as the two most prominent standards groups in worldwide cellular arena today – GSMA and CDG – have their roots here.
We have collected below some of very important milestones in history of wireless phone evolution.
Motorola DynaTAC 8000X (1983)
The Motorola DynaTAC 8000X started the wireless communication revolution. It was also know as “brick” phone. suffered mostly from low battery life and signal loss issues.

LG DP889 Digital Picture Frame / Portable DVD Player
Most of Digital Picture frames have some sort of Memory Card for quick picture uploads or you have to link it to your computer via USB to upload images, audio as well as videos.

LG DP889 has all that, but it also has a feature that most Digital Picture Frames don’t have: It is also a portable DVD player. LG really took the idea of a digital picture frame and improved on it and this great beauty is born. DP889 has a 3-in-1 memory card slot. It allows you to rip photos off of a DVD or CD so you can browse them.
As far as playing DVDs is concerned it’s really superb. Two people can enjoy watching their favorite movie without disturbing anyone else as it has dual headphone jacks. Built in speakers are loud enough to give a theatrical experience in less noisy environments.
The battery lasts for a good three and a half hours of video playback, so you can view a good length movie easily.
approximate price for LG DP889 is about $279.95, But I heard that it is available from Circuit City for less than that.

Apple or Sony: It boils down to earphones
I am a proud owner of a Sony Walkman series phone. I love it because of two reasons. First, it is a gift from my girlfriend. Secondly, It has headphones that are not only very beautiful and comfortable but they sound great too. Even if my girlfriend becomes and ex. I will never trade it with an i-pod.

Now, by looking at these latest headphones from Sony, I love my Walkman Phone(and my girlfriend) even more & I am pretty sure many more would like to convert (to Sony) from apple after looking at these.

Camera For Blind People
Next time whey you see a person trying to push a camera like object to his / her forehead, do not think he is gone mad or missed his/her medication. Most probably he is a visually impaired person trying to take a photographs.

The back of this device contains a Braille display sheet that embosses a 3D image of picture being taken so to shoot a picture you have to press this camera on your forehead and press the click button. Apart from being a great gadget for visually impaired people. It is also a really cool toy for people with good vision as some people would like to “feel” their private photo sessions with girlfriends.
