Notebook Wars: HP Mini 1000 Vs. Dell Mini 1210

These are interesting times to live in. Even more interesting is the battle of notebook computers between hardware giants, HP and DELL. Dell leaked information on Inspiron Mini 1210 series notebook on its support site a few weeks back.

The new Dell mini will actually feature a 12 inch screen, the largest in an Intel Atom powered Notebooks to date. It is now official that it will run Windows Vista. Other features of the Dell Mini 12 include Intel Atom Z520 or Z530 CPU, 1GB RAM, 1.3MP Camera, Wifi, and Bluetooth.

Dell Mini 12 will be priced in $500 - $600 band and will be available for purchase before the Christmas season begins (aka last week of November)

HP retaliated by introducing it own version of Mini, HP Mini 1000. It weighs about 2.25 pounds and is about an inch thick.

HP is likely to stick with its VIA C7-M processor or higher. It is very unlikely that we see an Intel atom notebook from HP. Jerel Chong, HP Australiaâ€™s Market Development Manager for Notebook PCs, described the new model as
