BlackBerry’s are fast becoming an epidemic. There fantastic features have caused people all over the world to go buy them. BlackBerry has recently introduced a new phone, known as BlackBerry 9800.
The Hardware of the BlackBerry 9800 is not bad. It is a typical RIM. Very solid, and even though it is a bit heavy, it has a good feel to it. The sliding mechanism is good quality.
The software is an RIM. Even though there are new UI elements in OS 6, there are some problems. There is a certain choppiness in the web browser.
Another problem is that the phone hangs navigating between screens. At times it feels that the phone has too many features. The result is that it feels too claustrophobic at times.
The keyboard is one of the best features of the phone. It is perfect. It resembles the Bold 9700 in this aspect.
The internals of the phone have proved to be disappointing. The quality of the features seems to have decreased. Reactions haven’t been that good.
From the 624 MHz CPU to only 512 MB of RAM, to the 1300 mAh battery, the BlackBerry worries us. It feels as if the hardware has been pushed to its maximum. Ironically the phone hasn’t even been released as yet.
The screen of the BlackBerry is no good either. The screen’s dimensions are 480 by 380. The screen is supposed to be the focal point of the device. However, it seems to outdated for 2010.
While examining the BlackBerry Torch 9800, one faces mixed emotions. Some of its updated features are commendable and it is not bad looking either. But it could have been better.
When one examines all the phones BlackBerry has created over the years, the feeling is one of disappointment. The phone shall excel at specific functions. This mainly includes e-mail and any sort of text-based messaging.
Recently. BlackBerry has been making a niche for itself in the electronics market. It has been competing with the iPhone and Android mobiles. So far it has been doing great. However, sadly, it seems that the Torch 9800 is nothing special.
Mobile phones have gained the status of one of the most important necessity of life in the 21st century, but still mobile phone technology is not considered as environmental friendly.
Smartphones Energy Consumption
Firstly, the materials of which mobile phones are made are not environmental and human friendly. These materials include: plastic, metal tantalum etc. Secondly, the issue that has always been closely associated with the mobile phones is the usage of energy. Smartphones require more energy than simple mobile pone. Some models consume even more energy without any type of energy-saving strategies.
Apart from the amount of energy that is used to charge cell phone (smartphones or other) the power to transmit calls, text/media messages and data via wireless carrier networks such as Bluetooth, infrared etc require extra power. Furthermore, all the wireless data sending networks transmit a remarkable volume of signaling traffic in order to route calls and other data to the relevant customers. Read More
