Nokia 6700 Slider Phone, A Smartphone Without A Touchscreen
Posted on 10 May 2010 by noor
Although Nokia has released several touchscreen phones, they are still few in number as compared to other companies, such as Samsung.
Maintaining its repute for producing simply, easy to use and decent phones, Nokia has recently released a new non-touch phone, the 6700 slide. However, this does not mean that it is a simple phone offering no other features. Nokia 6700 is a smartphone, running on the Symbian S60 3rd Edition operating system. The phone also has a really good build and is equipped with a 5MP AF camera with Carl Zeiss Tessar optics.
Nokia 6700 slide’s main body is built up of aluminum, making it seem like a solid and high quality phone. Moreover, the amazing design of the phone gives it an incredibly stylish look. The Nokia 6700 slide is also available in several other colors, including red, green and blue, which seem more youthful.
The Nokia 6700 has a 2.2 inch screen, and a resolution of 240×320 pixels. It also has light sensors for automatic brightness handling, but you will still have to shield the screen with your hand in order to get a clear view of the screen when outside.
According to the manufacturer, the battery life of the phone is at least 4 hours of talk time and 13 days of standby time.
Although most of the manufacturers are profoundly attacking the cell phone market by introducing new features related to the touchscreen, Nokia, the world’s largest cell phone manufacturer is still relying mainly on its older, non-touch versions. Devices like the Nokia 6700 slide prove that smartphones can do well without the touchscreen too.
