Here are some accessories that make your handset perform better and make it more easier and fun for you to carry your mobile.
1. Service Operator’s Data Back up Plan
If you are currently paying a monthly subscription fee, then this probably won’t add much to your bill. Through this service, you can have a back up of all of your handset’s data maintained by your service provider. This can be a lifesaver in case your handset gets stolen or lost. You can easily restore the data to a new handset, no matter which manufacturer is the new phone from.
This service will not only keep a record of your contacts, it will also back up your media including pictures, videos, music as well as your calendar details and messages. Obviously you will need to have GPRS active on your SIM for this.
2. Portable Charger/Additional Battery
Although the new smartphones are fantastic and can act as a computer as well as a phone, they are constantly draining battery power. Also, if you are a frequent traveler, then you must get a charger for your car or keep a charged, handy second battery.
Car chargers are quite cheap and can help you out in time of need. There are some handsets which come packaged with a second battery too.
3. Music Dock
Nowadays, mobile phones can act as a mobile phone, a computer or a music player as well. Thus it would be nice to have a portable speaker dock. Although a number of mobile phones have speakerphones, the quality a mobile phone’s built in speaker won’t be that good.
But before getting one, make sure that your device is compatible i.e. it should have a standard earphone socket for providing audio or you’ll have to look for a suitable adapter.
4. Stereo Bluetooth Headset
Many mobile phones provide good call and sound quality but their handsfree isn’t that good. If the mobile’s handsfree port is of a proprietary nature, then it might be a big problem for you to get a better set.
On the other hand, many handsets support A2DP, which means that by getting a compatible Bluetooth headset, you’ll get to enjoy the audio much better with no wires to get in your way.
5. Mobile Case
Mobile phone’s have a very sensitive screen that is prone to get scratches. Many people nowadays simply carry their phones around in their pockets, but the constant extraction from and placement into your pocket hampers the display. A good screen guard can be very useful for this, but it can damage the rest of the handset too.
Thus while getting a screen guard, also purchase a case for the handset. While getting a case, make sure that the lining on the inside of the case you’ve chosen is made up of a soft material, one that not only helps grip the handset but won’t damage the display if you have to remove it quite often.
There are certain cases available in the market, which allow you to encase the entire handset so you won’t have to remove the device from the case to make a call.
