It looks like we will have to wait for a longer time to experience Windows Mobile 7, as an executive from Microsoft UK said that the company is pushing back the launch date to late 2010.

Although the new mobile OS would bring better touch sensitive smarts but will it be worth the wait? This we won’t know until the end of next year.

Microsoft’s UK head of mobility, Phil Moore, declared at the Connect! technology summit in London, that the launch of Windows Mobile 7 has been delayed. He said : “It has been put back until late next year but it is definitely coming.”

Moreover, he also promised that Windows Mobile 7 will definitely be worth the wait, with a lot more features, and  flexibility on a much easier touch UI.

However, this delay could cause some potential problems for Microsoft, as the other companies will be releasing new versions in the beginning of the upcoming year. This includes the Android  and the Google Nexus One, not to forget the new iPhone due in June.

Although we will still have to wait a bit longer for Windows Mobile 7, but an upgrade version of Windows Mobile 6.5 could still be on its way soon.
