Verizon Samsung Omnia II Released Today

After the great success of Samsung Omnia, Omnia II has been launched today by Verizon, for $199 after a $100 rebate with a 2-year contract.

The phone, running on the Windows Mobile 6.5 is a touch screen, smartphone. Although it still has to be used with a stylus, but it has been integrated with the phone and is not hanging like a pencil on the side, as was the case with the original Omnia.

The 3.7-inches screen has a ultra-brilliant WVGA AMOLED display, having 8GB of internal memory. The Windows Mobile smartphone also offers Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, and EV-DO Rev, along with a 5-megapixel camera with a dual LED flash, adjustable focus, and robust multimedia features.

According to Samsung, the Omnia II provides an extra two hours talk time versus the Omnia when connected to a 3G network, and an extra 90 minutes on a 2G network.

Over all, Verizon customers looking for a good touch-screen smartphone will get a better user experience and faster performance from the Samsung Omnia II as compared to other smartphones.
