Nokia Launches Mobile Edition of TV Phone

Following the footsteps of Samsung, Nokia has also announced that it will soon be releasing a new mobile phone, designed specifically to display TV pictures by making use of DVB-H technology.

It will also have a built in Electronic Program Guide (EPG) making it easy for users to create personal channel lists.
According to reports, this device will probably be known as Nokia 5330 Mobile TV Edition and will be launched soon in Switzerland, Austria, Finland and Holland.
Other European and Asian countries will also receive this device. Nokia has estimated that more than 300 million users worldwide will watch TV from their mobile device by the year 2012.
It is expected that Nokia 5330 will be available for €155. Its features will be similar to 5330-XpressMusic, along with a 2.4 inch QVGA display.
The phone will allow faster data transfer, as it will be using 3G technology. A 3.5mm headphone socket will be available to help users to listening to their favorite TV programs.
The built in camera will be of 3.2 mega pixels. The phone will also allow users to access Nokia’s Ovi store and social bookmarking sites such as Facebook and Myspace.
Keeping in mind the changing trend of customers increasingly watching TV programs on their mobiles, the Nokia 5330 Mobile TV Edition has been aimed at producing the desired sound and image quality to hold the audiences captive.
