Palm Pre Review
The arrival of Palm Pre has shaken the smartphone world. Palm approached Jon Rubinstein, the project manager of Apple’s iPod, when it was on the verge of bankruptcy, to head its research and development. A year later, the Palm Pre arrived.

The Pre seems quite similar to the popular iPhone. They both have touch screens, robust operating systems, an extensive range of applications, Internet, GPS, etc. But the main difference between the two is that Pre adds on a QWERTY keypad and a 3.2-megapixel camera in a smaller design package.
Camera
The 3.2-megapixel camera allows you to take great, vivid and colorful pictures. It captures great detail, which can be viewed especially on the phone’s high-resolution screen.
Synergy
A new feature called ‘Synergy’ has also been added to the Palm’s new WebOS software that integrates information from multiple sources, so that calendar items, emails, text and photo messages, email messages and contacts are integrated into a single list.
Multitasking Environment
Multitasking allows calendars from a user’s desktop, online email and Internet to be viewed together, and conversations with individual contacts to be combined into a single chat-style window.
Moreover, the Pre allows for more than one application to remain open at the same time. This means that there’s no need to close emails for a call, end a call for an instant message, or end instant messaging to play a song and so on.
However, you cannot call it a perfect phone as there’s no camcorder, flash support, on-screen keypad or slot for a memory card included. Although it is possible to read Microsoft Office items, but they cannot be edited on the phone.
The Palm Pre enables you to stay connected and organized. It also provides good entertainment, but the applications may not be enough to serve every interest.
