Will Google Launch A Loan Aggregation Service?
Posted on 30 August 2009 by mudassir
That’s what has been put to a New York Times writer Miguel Helft in a fresh blog post. Helft drew attention that the online mortgage loan firm Lending Tree was so much involved in legal proceedings against Mortech – the company which is providing its web technology.
A case in a court involves this claim:
"Lending Tree recently learned that Google (GOOG) imminently plans to launch a loan aggregation service in late August or early September of this year that would compete with LendingTree. … Lending Tree has also learned that Mortech intends to make its pricing engine services available for use with Google’s new service and will send information related to mortgage loan offers to be displayed to consumers on Google’s Web site."

Helft tells Lending Tree has a screen shot of the Web page Google intends to use. While responding to it Google’s spokesperson gave a statement in which he seems to confirm what is happening, look what he says:
"We’re constantly looking for new ways to help people find what they are looking for on the Internet. As part of that effort, we are currently working on a small ad unit test that will run against a limited number of mortgage-related search queries in the U.S."
People will be using this service in a couple of weeks, according to Helft.
CNet reporter Tom Krazit adds that this isn’t the first time Google has dabbled in the real estate business.
Tom Krazit – working at CNet- says that Google already tried many times to dabble in the real estate business and this is not fresh news for us. Google Maps is already providing searching option for home listings.
He says:
“…this would perhaps make an interesting addition."
