Maximum PC Presented Surface-like Multi touch PC

The idea of spending 12,000 USD for a Microsoft Surface was not liked by Maximum PC. Then what was done by them? They presented their own unique multi touch table PC in an affordable price.

They used number of infrared LEDs over the table, the guts of a PS3 Eye camera, a projector and little use of acrylic in its making. There were also a homemade wood cabinet and an old computer lying around (Core 2 Duo, 2 gigabytes RAM); along with this whole structure they created a multi-touch technology costing just 350USD that approximately gives the same surface experience.

The video plays through some of the demos including a light/finger paint type application that was able to track all 10 fingers, a Pong-like game, and the photo shuffling. So, it is clear this was not an incomplete project.

The project was completed in two weeks. Almost all open source software including Touchlib, AMCap, and FlashOSC has been used to power it.
